We are recruiting a Programme Director for our Accounting and Finance Programme at the Surrey International Institute at Dongbei University of Finance & Economics (SII-DUFE).

SII-DUFE is a cooperative educational institute established by the Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) and the University of Surrey, located on DUFE’s campus in Dalian, China.

Established in 2007, SII-DUFE offers students a dual-degree scheme allows them to obtain two degrees, one English and one Chinese, at the same timeframe as a traditional Chinese degree.  On successful completion of SII’s Accounting and Finance undergraduate programme, students are awarded a degree by each university partner (referred to as dual degrees).  All degrees are taught in English and are delivered to the same specification as the University of Surrey’s degrees.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide programme leadership and quality teaching within a stimulating academic environment.

Working within a team of experienced international academics, you will have the opportunity to develop and deliver innovative approaches to improving student learning and the student experience, combining academic rigour with professional realism.

The role will include line management of the teaching teams.

Essential requirements:

  • Expertise in UK, or UK-equivalent, quality assurance and standards with experience of processes relating to operations of Boards of Studies, Boards of Examiners and other QA related posts or responsibilities.
  • Experience in a leadership or deputy role managing or overseeing undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes in relevant subject areas.
  • Demonstrable experience in being responsive to student needs, proactive in promotion of programmes and entrepreneurial in quality enhancement of programmes. 
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, maintain effective communications with counterparts overseas and use initiative to resolve problems.
